2002 – 2006 Chevy Silverado / Sierra LONG BED ONLY 2″ Calmax Control Arms / 4″ Rear Leaf Spring Hanger & Shackle Kit by DJM

Big important deal!!! Between 2002 and 2006 Chevy decided to use 3 different leaf spring eye hanger brackets on the Silverado Long Bed, don't ask we have no idea! So, if you have a 2002 - 2006 Silverado Long Bed (Only) you need to do a visual inspection of the factory leaf spring mount where it mounts to the frame near the cab! Maybe even take a quick picture. Then compare what you see with these pictures to make sure you order the correct leaf spring Hanger/Shackle kit.

It's Easy to Choose!

Here are the 3 different leaf spring hangers used by Chevy. Use the pictures and match to your factory hanger

A better way to get a 2/4 drop is with DJM’s exclusive Calmax Control Arms. Keep your factory coil and keep full factory travel while getting a 2″ drop! Having full travel means you won’t notice any ride change from stock, none of that choppy up against the bumpstop stuff you can get with cut coils of poorly engineered drop coils. You also have no worries about alignment, (read how important alignment is here) or wheel clearance (no minimum wheel size) problems.

Combine the Calmax arms with a 4″ rear hanger and shackle kit to reposition the leaf spring and it’s a complete high quality lowering kit that doesn’t cost as much as your wheels and tires and protects them from unnecessary wear! A DJM exclusive

CALMAX Front Shocks

CALMAX SuperShocks are the best choice for your project. Here you can choose the correct front shock to work with these DJM parts. The 4 inch front drop means you need a shorter shock. Calmax SuperShock part number 1415 is the perfect choice!

CALMAX Rear Shocks

In case your wondering why 2 different shock part numbers in the rear? Your factory shock mounts are staggered, one in front and one behind the rear axle, since your going to the trouble to lower why not have the optimum length shock for each side! Calmax Supershock number 1900 is for the drivers side.

Why are Complete Kits Important?

Johnny Cash wrote a song about collecting a bunch of good working parts that were not designed to work together and found it doesn’t always end well! Don’t believe me, click up there! Calmax Control Arms

Control arms or “A” arms or maybe “wishbones” are the components that attach the spindle/brake assembly to the frame. In almost every case there is an upper and lower arm. The lower arm is the big one, supporting the weight of the front end through a spring or torsion bar. The lower arm is where […]

Hangers and Shackles

Rear leaf spring shackles are commonly used to “Level” trucks. For those of you who just can’t stand the “stink bug” look of factory stances, the lowering shackle is for you! Typical drop is two inches and fairly simple to install. You simply remove the factory shackle and replace it with a longer drop shackle. […]
